Vent
Just a story, I already talked on here this week.

Vent
Tracy looked out through the vent in the bottom of the door and wished that the angle didn’t keep her from looking up into the hallway. She couldn’t hear anything, but there was no way she was going to open the door.
The first thing that she saw was shadow. It was a splotch on the floor that grew darker as it got closer; a line that widened until the she couldn’t see any light in front of the door at all.
When the first claw came down in front of her door, she almost screamed. Tracy had no idea what it was when it attacked the hotel, all she knew for sure was that she had seen blood splash the glass wall between the pool and the lobby. Now, the curving black claw was resting on the carpet in front of her.
The door rattled, and Tracy put her fist into her mouth. She bit down to keep quiet and prayed that it would just walk away.
The door rattled again, and a low growl told her that it probably wasn’t going anywhere.
A request for help please
I need to ask for a little assistance from any of you that will share your opinion. I am looking for recommendations of leading men in classic literature who were great romantics and lovers. I am working on a new story and I want the leading lady to have an infatuation with these classic characters. The problem is that I don’t know these stories for that element.
I know that romance as a genre provides a lot of different things, but I am looking for the famous literature. As an example, if I wanted to find a character who had a cunning, and unparalleled mind, I could mention Sherlock Holmes.
So, what leading characters, in what books, do you recommend as scorching lovers, even if the story doesn’t describe the encounter in detail? My characters imagination can do the work, but I need the names to drop as fodder for her imagination.
If you could please help, then thank you in advance. Feel free to comment or message me. However you feel comfortable answering.

Drip
Short blurb of good news. I have received an acceptance. My mental asylum story, Rorschach, has been accepted by Sirens Call Publications for an upcoming anthology. I am signing the contract as soon as I finish typing this post.

Drip
I heard the soft thump as another drop fell to the floor. It hit the tile, just to the right of my shoe, and I wondered if it would be easy to clean up. I didn’t know. I had never made a mess like this before.
To be honest, I had never really been the one to clean up. That was what she did. I would hammer and saw and paint and fix. She was always the one who cleaned up.
The next tiny splat brought me back to the present. It brought me back to the demolished couch, the broken table and the pieces of drapes and blankets.
“Bad dog.” I whispered the word. I couldn’t yell around the lump in my throat.
Drool dripped from his jaws again, but this time, it landed on my shoe.

This is horrible and I believe we should all take notice. Read both the comic and the explanation below it.
Rude Awakening
I stretch, feeling the sheets slide along my skin as I move. My muscles protest by sending pin picks of pain throughout my body, but they vanish as I continue to twist and bend.
Last night had been one of the best of my life. I couldn’t remember his name, but his efforts and skills made sure that I would remember it when I asked him for it this morning.
I look to my right, and consider waking him up. We have only slept for a couple of hours, but that should be enough time for him to recharge and go again, right?
I reach over and slide my hand over his side, finger tips gliding from his stomach to his navel before I realize that his skin is cold to the touch.
Will you post something already
Wow, my posts have sucked for not fiction content lately. The thing is, I don’t think anyone really cares about regular daily life. So, unless it is a writing related announcement, this will become just the stories. I may still share things that I consider to be of particular interest, but otherwise, this is going to be come all fiction all the time.
I will try to keep it to under a 1000 words a story though.
Today is an attempt at something more like my understanding of literary fiction. Not sure how much I like it, but if a site dedicated to writing exercises can’t host this then there is no home for it.

Hunting
I sat down beside the boy, and felt the cold from the stone seep up into my ass while waiting on him to say something. In my opinion, talking to a young adult was a lot like hunting. You couldn’t flush them out, you had to be patient.
I hate hunting like that.
“I don’t like this,” he said.
I didn’t turn away from the stream. Instead, I sat for a few minutes, waiting until he fidgeted. “I don’t like it either.”
“Isn’t there anything we can do?”
Now, I turned to face him. “Change something.”
“I don’t understand.”
“If you want something to be different, then you have to make changes. If you always do the same thing, you can’t expect things to change.”
He looked at me for a long time before he nodded, stood up, and walked away.
UserFriendly Strip Archive – May 09, 2014
I started reading user friendly during lunch before writing. Currently, my WIP is a Lovecraftian tale. This strip is perfect, because it is correct. Us great old ones have to stick together.
